Audience Naming Conventions — admin-defined name templates

Audience Naming Conventions let admins define reusable name templates that keep audiences consistent across the account. Builders pick a convention when creating or editing an audience, fill in its variables from dropdowns and an optional free-text field, and the audience Name is generated for them — no more stray prefixes or ad-hoc rules.

How it works

  • Admins configure conventions under Account → Settings → Audiences → Audience Naming.
  • A template looks like {{Team}}_{{Channel}}_{{input}}{{Variable}} tokens become dropdowns with admin-defined options, and {{input}} is an optional free-text field.
  • A separate Enforce Audience Naming Conventions setting controls whether picking a convention is required. With enforcement off, users can still type a free-form name; with it on, a convention must be selected.
  • When editing an existing audience, Lytics auto-detects the matching convention (if any) and pre-fills the variable values.

Scope

  • Applies to user-table audiences. Other segment types are unaffected.
  • Applies to both audience creation and editing.
  • Existing audiences are not retroactively renamed — names only change when a user saves an audience with a convention selected.
