Metric Threshold Alerts — min/max alerts on charts with email notifications
7 days ago
Metric Threshold Alerts let you set expected min and max bounds directly on Lytics activity charts. When a metric falls outside the configured bounds, Lytics sends a batched email to users opted in to alerts — no separate monitoring job to configure.
How it works
- A bell icon now appears next to Audience Activity, Job Metrics, and Stream Event Activity charts. Click it to open the Alert Thresholds popover.
- Set an Interval (
per hour/per day/per week), Min, Max, and Allowable violations, then Save. Threshold lines render on the chart — red dashed for max, orange dashed for min. - Lytics evaluates rules hourly. Violations trigger a batched alert email to anyone in the account with the Metrics Rule Alerts role, with a link back to the affected chart. Duplicate emails are throttled within a 24-hour window.
Scope
- Available on three chart types: audience size, job metrics (Added / Removed / Omitted), and stream events.
- Rule management is gated by the new Metrics Rule View and Metrics Rule Manage roles. Email delivery is controlled separately by the Metrics Rule Alerts role.
- The Job Metrics chart now defaults to a 10-day daily view so threshold lines render on first open. Existing rules are unaffected.
- Rules are also accessible programmatically via the
/v2/anomaly/ruleAPI for accounts that manage them at scale.
See Metric Threshold Alerts for the full walkthrough, including screenshots of the popover and threshold-line rendering.
